One person has died and at least two others were injured in a recent collision that took place in Massachusetts during a time of heavy traffic congestion. Car accidents that occur when drivers fail to adjust speed to match a buildup in traffic run the risk of creating a chain of events that could pose a threat to the well-being of everyone nearby. In some cases, such incidents could also prove fatal and leave surviving family members mourning an untimely loss.

Law enforcement agents say they received reports of a multiple-vehicle crash on a recent Monday evening. According to initial investigations, three vehicles became involved in a collision while navigating through heavy traffic congestion. The driver of a tow truck was apparently unable to react in time to avoid the fallout and crashed into the rear of a car that was involved in the initial crash.

Authorities say that the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. Two others were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries. Although the crash is under investigation, no further information was provided as to how the initial crash might have occurred or why the driver of the tow truck was unable to slow down in time to avoid a secondary impact.

Losing a loved one is never easy, especially when it comes as the result of another person’s negligence. Those who suffer such loss in fatal car accidents could choose to seek advice on their available legal avenues by retaining the services of an attorney. Such guidance could help provide a person in Massachusetts with a better understanding of how to prepare to pursue the full amount of restitution entitled through a wrongful death claim.
