What can be done to prevent elder abuse?

When residents in Massachusetts decide it is in the best interest of an aging loved one to move into a nursing home, family members are often concerned with the health, wellbeing and care of their elderly loved one. While these facilities claim to offer quality living environments with a caring community and staff, this is sadly not the case for all nursing homes.

Returning to work after a work injury

When an employee is injured on-the-job, it is often in his or her best interest to take the necessary steps to recover and eventually return to work. For some, this could mean a lengthy recovery process that requires medical treatment and rehabilitation. In matters of permanent or temporary disabilities, workers may have to take an extended leave of absence from work. In order to offset the financial hardships the recovery could cost, workers' compensation is often filed for. However, these benefits could end when the injured worker is able to work again.

Authorities believe vehicle cut truck off, causing fatal crash

Because drivers are aware that accidents could happen at any moment, many take proactive and evasive action to avoid hazards and collisions. While this could help prevent some accidents from occurring, this unfortunately does not always occur. Moreover, when drivers make sudden maneuvers to avoid a collision, this could lead to even graver results.

Assigning liability after a tour bus accident

During the summer months, it is common for residents in Massachusetts and across the nation to go on vacations and site see. In some situations, vacationers may go on guided tours at historic sites or attraction sites, which might require chartering a bus or riding on a tour bus. While this is a great way for individuals and groups of tourists to see an attraction without having to drive his or her own vehicle, riders on a tour bus face the same dangers and risks as any vehicle does on the roadways.
